Manager Hansi Flick has urged his Barcelona to block all the noise in the media and focus on their clash against Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday, January 12.
Speaking to the media ahead of the Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid, Flick stated that it was a big game for everyone involved. He added that he gave the players a day off on Friday to ease things on them and said (via Barca Universal):
"At the end of the day, we have to do our job. We have to prepare the team well, that's what's important. It's a big game for everyone, it's a Clásico in the Super Cup, and it would be fantastic if we could win. It will be a boost for our confidence going into the rest of the season."
“I have told the team. There is only outside noise, we have to be cohesive and strong. It’s a great season, we haven’t reached the points we wanted. It’s good to learn from every game and this is the goal. We have played well for the club. That’s what we want. Yesterday we gave a day off. Today we will focus on the match. Show them how we can play, what we can improve because they can play very well.”
Spanish clubs are reportedly furious with Barcelona getting to play Dani Olmo despite him not being registered within the given deadline of December 31. However, the Higher Sports Council (CSD) granted Barca the necessary precautionary measure to register him on January 8.

Hansi Flock has admitted that Real Madrid are one of the best teams in the world. He added that Barcelona cannot afford to make mistakes against Los Blancos like they did against Athletic Bilbao and said (via Barca Universal):
"They are one of the best teams in the world, we have a tremendous team. We can do it, mistakes were made against Athletic. They are one of the best teams in transition. We have to reduce the mistakes.”
When quizzed about the starting XI for the final, Flick was unwilling to reveal the team, saying:
“I never talk about the starting eleven for tomorrow. He [Szczesny] played a good game and Inaki had a great first half of the season. That’s how it is."
