"They are not bothered about possession” - Chris Sutton predicts who will win Spain vs Georgia clash in Euro 2024 Round of 16

BBC pundit Chris Sutton has predicted Spain to secure a victory against Georgia when the sides clash in the Round of 16 at Euro 2024 on Sunday, June 30. Luis de la Fuente's side finished at the top of Group B with a maximum of nine points after picking up wins against the likes of Italy, Croatia, and Albania.

Meanwhile, their opponents, Georgia managed to secure four points from a relatively competitive Group F that included the likes of Portugal, Turkey, and Czech Republic.

Ahead of the Round of 16 clash, BBC pundit Sutton has predicted a 3-1 victory in favor of La Roja. However, he was full of praise for Georgia following the remarkable outing they have had so far in the competition, notably beating Group F toppers Portugal.

Sutton said:

"What a story Georgia have been - I love what they have achieved at this tournament, and the way they have done it. They only finished fourth in their qualifying group - which by the way saw them lose 7-1 at home to Spain in September last year - but made it here via the Nations League and have surprised everyone.

Sutton continued:

"Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is their one real star player but as a team, they have been a real breath of fresh air with their approach in Germany. They are not bothered about possession but when they break they have amazing pace and a real cutting edge.

"With their performances so far, Georgia have shown everyone what a good team they are - but the problem for them here is that Spain were the outstanding team of the group stage.

Sutton also had praise for La Roja, stating:

"Spain are well balanced, defensively disciplined and carry a real attacking threat. I am sticking with France as my pick to win these Euros but Spain are currently the team to beat.

The Group B toppers are looking like the team to beat at the ongoing Euro 2024. La Roja currently boasts of a perfect start to the competition, winning all three of their opening games thus far.
