Gilberto Silva has urged William Saliba to reject Real Madrid interest and stay at Arsenal. He believes the big offers will be tempting, but the Frenchman should remain focused on doing well for the Gunners.
Speaking to MyBettingsSites, Silva claimed that players leaving the Emirates for big clubs are not always successful after taking the step. He believes that the players need to work from scratch once again after joining a new club and said:
“I think there are examples of several other athletes who were at Arsenal in the past during good times, both for the club and individually, and who made an expensive change and weren’t as successful.”
“Why? Arsenal has a philosophy within a very special culture, and people may not understand the greatness of this club. If they understood the greatness of the club and didn’t let themselves be carried away by the ego that is inflated when faced with a big offer from a club like Real Madrid, they could build a history at the club. Anyone who wants to take a different step in their career should do so, but with the certainty that they will have to build a history all over again,” he added.
Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Saliba next summer. Spanish media have stated that Los Blancos will do anything possible to lure the Frenchman to Santiago Bernabeu as they look to bolster the defense.
Arsenal told to sell any player not interested in staying by Gilberto Silva
Gilberto Silva wants Arsenal to keep players who are interested in working for the club. He believes that the Gunners should not force anyone to stay and opt to sell anyone who is thinking about an exit.
Speaking to MyBettingSites, Silva claimed that the club should never force any player to remain at the Emirates as it would hamper their performance. He said:
“Arsenal is second to no other club in terms of investment. Obviously, knowing a little about the vision of the people at the club, they won’t do anything crazy either, especially if the player doesn’t want to stay at the club, right? The main point is that at a club like Arsènal, the player has to want to stay at the club.”
Real Madrid are looking to add defenders next summer as David Alaba and Eder Miltao have suffered injuries. The Spanish giants are also keeping tabs on Trent Alexander-Arnold as the Liverpool star is in the final year of his contract.
