Robert Sanchez has urged his Chelsea teammates Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella to stop talking to the officials. The duo have picked up their fifth booking of the season and are now suspended for the Liverpool clash on October 20 after the international break.
Speaking to BBC, Sanchez stated that the Chelsea duo were unlucky to have got the suspension. He expressed confidence that the players who will replace them are good enough, saying:
"Massive players but it was unlucky. They need to stop talking to the officials. We have some very good players to come in."
Wesley Fofana was booked in the final minutes of the draw to Nottingham Forest on Sunday (October 6) for a foul on a counter. Marc Cucurella got booked following a scuffle despite being the Chelsea player who got pushed into Enzo Maresca by Nottingham Forest's Neco Williams.
Enzo Maresca confident about Chelsea players stepping up
Enzo Maresca has backed the Chelsea players to step up and deliver in the absense of Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana. The Blues manager told the media that every club has 25 players to cover for such occasions:
"Every club has around 25 players, so it's not something just for us, but the way we have tried to do things is to share minutes across all of them, and the reason why is because they deserve it. Those who played the other day in the Conference League [on Thursday night] did well and deserved to start again, but there was another eleven that did a fantastic job against Brighton.
"We try to use all of them in the best way and, for sure, when we have an injury, red cards, or like now when we will not have Wes and Marc, we are going to use some of the guys who today were not in the first eleven."
Tosin Adarabioyo and Renato Veiga are expected to be the players to make their way into the starting XI for the suspended duo. They have played in Premier League matches this season, but have started just one match each while coming off the bench when needed in the others.
