Former Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder has predicted that Manchester United will win the Premier League title before Liverpool. He believes that United manager Erik ten Hag has had more time to build his squad and they will be stronger than last season.

Liverpool will enter the 2024-25 season under the leadership of former Feyenoord boss Arne Slot, who was brought in after Jurgen Klopp left the club at the end of last season.

In conversation with talkSPORT, Sneijder stated that Manchester United did the right thing by keeping Ten Hag at the club. He believes that both are good coaches, but the Red Devils' manager will win the title earlier. When asked which club will win the Premier League title sooner, Sneijder said:

"Manchester United. Because they have time to build something, the coach will stay and they are confident enough in the coach to build on something. So I believe they will be stronger this season than last season."

The Dutchman added:

"They are both good coaches. Slot did an amazing job with Feyenoord and at United, they are very confident with Ten Hag. He has extended his contract, also Ruud Van Nistelrooy, I just got the news that he will be involved. So I think they can do a big job because they have amazing players at United. There has to be a team, they need time. That is what it is looking like so far, they give time to build a team. I think this season they will go for some prizes."

Manchester United were close to sacking Ten Hag but changed their decision after he won the FA Cup by beating rivals Manchester City in the final.

Dutch midfielder compares Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag and Liverpool's Arne Slot

Former Utrecht and Feyenoord midfielder Mark Diemers, who played under both Erik ten Hag and Arne Slot, recently compared his experience working with the two managers. He told ESPN (via 90MIN):

"I choose Arne Slot. I can only speak from my time. I thought Ten Hag was incredibly good on a tactical level, and so were his training sessions. I just didn't think he was very good on a human level at that time. But that was six or seven years ago. I thought Slot was a lot stronger on a human level."

However, Diemers added that he still remains in contact with Ten Hag and was confident that the Dutchman would've grown on a human level since they worked together.
