Manchester United fans on X have blasted Andre Onana for his poor performance in their shock 3-2 defeat against Nottingham Forest. The two sides faced off in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday, December 7.
Nikola Milenkovic gave Forest the lead in the second minute with a powerful header following Elliot Anderson's cross from a corner. Rasmus Hojlund leveled the scores 16 minutes later, tapping home after Alejandro Garnacho's effort rebounded in his path.
Manchester United were dealt a massive blow in the 47th minute when Morgan Gibbs-White gave Forest the lead. The latter fired the ball down the middle, which arguably should have been a routine save for Andre Onana. However, the 28-year-old dived to the side, conceding the goal.
Onana then failed to claim the ball following a cross into the box. A huge mix-up between the former, Matthijs de Ligt, and Lisandro Martinez led to Chris Wood heading home in the 54th minute to make it 3-1. Bruno Fernandes netted seven minutes later but was unable to prevent Manchester United from succumbing to their second loss in a row.
Onana was arguably at fault for two of Nottingham Forest's goals, made zero saves, and made zero high claims.

"This Onana guy needs to be binned. Horrible player."

"I thought he was going to pick it up" - Morgan Gibbs-White on Andre Onana's costly error following win over Manchester United
Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White has admitted that he didn't think he would score in the 47th minute and fully expected Andre Onana to make a simple save. However, he was quick to credit Onana for being an "incredible" shot-stopper.
Following the game, Gibbs-White told Sky Sports (via @UnitedStandMUFC):
"I didn't [think it was going in] at all, to be fair. I don't want to discredit Onana, he's an incredible goalkeeper, but when I had the shot, I thought he was going to pick it up. But hey, you count them don't you! I'm happy to contribute to the team."
Despite his poor performance against Forest, Onana has been performing well this season for Manchester United, keeping seven clean sheets in 21 appearances across competitions.
Following their 3-2 loss, Manchester United are in 13th place in the Premier League standings with 19 points from 15 games. Meanwhile, Nottingham are fifth with 25 points.
