Liverpool attacker Federico Chiesa's agent, Vali Ramadan, has asserted that his client is keen to stay at the Merseyside outfit amid recent transfer speculations.
Since leaving Serie A team Juventus in a potential £12.5 million deal last summer, Chiesa has struggled with a host of injury issues. He has started just one of his four total appearances so far for the Reds, providing one assist along the way.
With him failing to cement himself as a crucial squad member at the Anfield outfit, the Italian has reportedly been linked with a move away of late.
When asked to shed light on the latest rumours involving his client, Ramadan confirmed that the Fiorentina academy graduate has no intention of departing his new club this month. The agent told 365Scores (h/t Caught Offside):
"Napoli did not negotiate a contract with Chiesa from Liverpool in the winter period and the club has no intention of dispensing with the player. The player is continuing with Liverpool and is seeking the opportunity to participate in the coming period. This is what I can confirm now."
Chiesa, 27, has been named in the matchday squad four times in Liverpool's last six matches across competitions. He could next be in action for his club in their EFL Cup semi-final first leg clash against Tottenham Hotspur this Wednesday.
Liverpool great opines on Ryan Gravenberch
Since the start of the campaign, Ryan Gravenberch has witnessed a rise in his stock owing to his great performances in a holding midfield role for the Reds.
Speaking to Stadium Astro, Liverpool icon John Barnes stated that the star's transformation is down to head coach Arne Slot. He elaborated (h/t Metro):
"It's because of the way the manager wants him to play. He has not improved as a player but he knows Arne Slot, he's Dutch and this style of football suits him more than under Jurgen [Klopp]. Jurgen played a more dynamic type of football."
Sharing more thoughts on the 22-year-old Dutchman, Barnes added:
"Playing as a number six, I don't think he could have done this under Jurgen or at Bayern, but because Arne Slot has implemented a style to suit him in that position, as he's done with all the players. Yes, he's been one of our standout performers but I don't think he's necessarily improved as a player. It's just that the environment around him and the way we now play suits him in that position."
So far this term, Gravenberch has started all 25 of his club appearances.
