Manchester United fans have taken to social media to react to Amad Diallo's absence from their starting XI to face Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday, November 3. This would be interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy's second match in charge of United and first in the league.

The club legend returned to Manchester in the summer as an assistant coach to former manager Erik ten Hag. However, the Red Devils struggled under Ten Hag and were 13th in the table when he was handed the sack.

Van Nistelrooy was appointed on an interim basis but Manchester United have already appointed Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim as their head coach. The Portuguese coach will assume his post on November 11.

In the meantime, Van Nistelrooy is running things on the pitch, but fans are not particularly pleased with his first Premier League starting lineup. The manager opted to leave out Amad Diallo, who has not started a match since their 3-3 draw to FC Porto in the Europa League on October 3.

The 22-year-old has one goal and one assist from four Premier League starts, and he will hope he can make an impact against Chelsea from the bench. However, Manchester United fans are not pleased about this, as they took to social media platform X to react with comments like these:

"I’m tired of complaining about Amad not starting now. Just win I beg," a fan was not happy.
"Amad benched again," another fan complained.
"Where’s Amad?" an angry fan asked.
"Amad benched again lmao RvN [Ruud van Nistelrooy] is ten hag," a fan slammed the interim boss.
"One more game Amad, you’ll be free soon," another fan promised.

Ruud van Nistelrooy speaks about criticism ahead of Manchester United's clash with Chelsea

Ruud van Nistelrooy talked about facing criticism from his former teammates at Manchester United. Speaking ahead of their upcoming clash against Chelsea, the interim head coach said (via The Guardian):

“They want the club to do well, and they are disappointed when it doesn’t go well, and they have opinions on that. I don’t take it personally. When I see them and have a cup of coffee with them I have no problems.
"I appreciate them as former colleagues and some of them I’m still in touch with. That’s the path some of them choose and others stay more on the football side, so for me it is absolutely fine.”

Van Nistelrooy has already enjoyed a win at the helm of Manchester United, as they beat Leicester City 5-2 in the Carabao Cup on October 30. However, he will face a much sterner test against Chelsea in the Premier League, with the Blues currently sitting in sixth place.
