Earlier this Thursday (March 13), the Red Devils beat Real Sociedad 4-1 in their UEFA Europa League last-16 second leg tie. Bruno Fernandes scored a hat-trick and Diogo Dalot netted just before the full-time whistle in the clash against the La Liga side.

Ahead of the Europa League encounter, Amorim was asked to share his thoughts on Zubimendi starting the recent match after missing the first leg contest. He responded to TNT Sports (h/t Metro):

"He's a top player who can change a team. Especially in that position [defensive midfield] he's one player who can read and block transitions. He's also the first guy in the build-up, I know the player really well, everybody knows he's a top player who can change the team."

Following the Manchester United boss' comments, Scholes commented:

"From that interview, the manager quite likes Zubimendi! If we sell three or four players we might be able to buy him but tonight's a big night."

Zubimendi, 26, is reportedly expected to be a subject of a bidding war in the summer after he rejected Liverpool last summer. The UEFA Euro 2024 winner has allegedly drawn attention from Arsenal and Manchester City in the past few months.

So far, Zubimendi has made 225 appearances in all competitions for his club. The Arsenal and Liverpool transfer target has produced nine goals and nine assists for Imanol Alguacil's outfit, who are in 11th spot in the La Liga table now.

Arsenal, Liverpool & Manchester United-linked striker hoping to join La Liga side this summer

According to Football365, Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has no intention of moving to either Arsenal or Manchester United this year. The Swede is pushing to play for Barcelona, who are on the hunt for an ideal replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

Isak, who has also reportedly popped up on Liverpool's radar of late, has been in excellent form this season. The 25-year-old has scored 22 goals and recorded five assists in 32 appearances across all competitions for the Magpies so far this campaign.

Should Isak decide to reject Barcelona and join Arsenal this summer, he would emerge as a starting striker for the Gunners. He would also easily start for Manchester United ahead of Rasmus Hojlund should he decide to move to the Old Trafford outfit.
