Atletico Madrid are considering a loan move for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, as per TBR Football. The 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford following recent happenings at the club.

Rashford was left out of the squad for last Sunday's 2-1 win over Manchester City by manager Ruben Amorim. This fueled speculations of a possible exit from the club, with Saudi Arabia named as a potential destination. However, the Englishman is reportedly not interested in moving to the Middle East.

In a recent interview with journalist Henry Winter, Rashford admitted that he is up for a new challenge and is ready for the next step in his career. It suggests that he is open to leaving his boyhood club.

According to the aforementioned source, Atletico Madrid have shown interest in signing Rashford on a loan deal. The Manchester United forward would prefer a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid, but both clubs are not interested in him at the moment.

Atletico Madrid are also one of the heavyweights in LaLiga and a loan move could be ideal for Rashford as he looks to rejuvenate his form. Unlike Manchester United who have struggled this season, Diego Simeone side's have been impressive and could challenge Barcelona and Real Madrid for the title.

They are currently second on the LaLiga table with the same number of points (38) as leaders Barcelona but with a game less. In the Champions League, they are placed 11th having won four out of six games so far.

Paul Scholes comments on Marcus Rashford's possible exit from Manchester United

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes is of the opinion that Marcus Rashford could be nearing his exit from the club. The 27-year-old emerged through the club's academy, establishing himself as a first-team regular at Old Trafford. However, he has failed to live up to expectations in recent seasons, and this has led to talks of an exit from the Manchester club.

Speaking recently on the Overlap Fan Debate, Scholes said about Rashford (via Daily Mail):

"It feels like the end for him. He doesn't look happy, the lad. Even if he's scoring a goal. You think, what's wrong with him? Is he getting the right support behind the scenes?
"You don't know what's happening. But it did happen with (Erik) ten Hag, I think he was late for a meeting before the Wolves game, and again, he's been left out of this squad. I think his on and off-the-field choices aren't quite right."

He added:

"I hate seeing local lads leave, especially when they're so talented. But I think the thing with Marcus is, he was that good two years ago, when he had that season when he scored 30 goals - he's just never managed to get to that level again and that's why he gets the stick. He produced the standard, and then for the past 18 months, two years, he's just been nowhere near.
"There's every chance that could happen (Rashford going to another club and succeeding). But he's not doing that for us."

Marcus Rashford made his Manchester United senior-team debut in 2016. He has recorded 138 goals and 63 assists in 426 games for the club since then.
