USMNT starlet Nimfasha Berchimas recently impressed in a trial for Manchester United's U18s side. The 16-year-old winger managed to find the back of the net after a great performance.

Berchimas attracted interest from a host of European sides after shining in a trial for Bayern Munich in 2022. The Burundi-born forward currently plies his trade in the United States for Charlotte FC.

He earned his first team promotion at the Major League Soccer club this year after his 16th birthday. Berchimas has scored six goals so far in 26 appearances across competitions this season.

Manchester United recently held a behind-closed-doors friendly against Burnley for their U18s side and Berchimas earned the opportunity to try out for the English giants (via journalist Tom Bogert).

The young attacker reportedly put on an excellent performance at the Carrington training ground, scoring a goal and helping his side secure the victory. This could lead to a professional contract with the Red Devils for Berchimas.

While they seem to have gained a new potential prospect in their academy, Manchester United's senior team continues to struggle under Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese boss has suffered consecutive defeats in his last three fixtures across competitions, including their Carabao Cup knockout to Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter-finals.

The Red Devils are 14th in the Premier League table, 11 points adrift of the Champions League spots.

Ruben Amorim reacts after Manchester United's loss against Wolves

Manchester United suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers in their Boxing Day clash at the Molineux Stadium.

The scoreline remained level until Bruno Fernandes picked up his second yellow card of the match in the 47th minute. A ten-man United failed to keep Wolves at bay as Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan got on the scoresheet.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Amorim opened up about his side's flaws before admitting that Fernandes' sending-off was difficult for them to cope with. The former Sporting CP manager said:

"We have to improve the relationships, but we have some moments. We lack a little bit of aggression, but we don't train. We just play and try to find a better way to win games and that's it. We can't control the games like the other ones that we lost. I think we were always in control of the game, not always dominating, but in control of some things, some set-pieces. The sending off was really hard for us."
