Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has dropped a big update about his future at the club, revealing that he had a conversation with new manager and fellow Dutchman Arne Slot. That comes after Jurgen Klopp stepped down at the end of the season.

Van Dijk has provided an update about his future at Liverpool, telling Dutch outlet NOS Voetbal that he has spoken with Arne Slot:
"That felt good. We discussed everything, about the selection but also about my personal situation. I am and will remain captain and have one year left on my contract."
The defender has been a regular at Anfield since arriving in January 2018. Except for the 2020-21 season, he has played a minimum of 32 Premier League games each season, finishing the last one with 36 appearancs He has led the club to triumphs in the Champions League, FA Cup and Premier League.

Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk has declared his support for incoming Liverpool boss Arne Slot. The Dutch defender has revealed that he's looking forward to getting to work under his compatriot and continuing Klopp’s legacy at the club.
Speaking to SkySports, the Reds captain said that he's looking forward to seeing how the next chapter at Melwood unfolds (via FotMob):
"I have full trust in the club and their decisions going forward, Obviously, change is always a bit unknown, but I've got full confidence, and I'm looking forward to the new season already. We have a good coach coming in, good backroom staff, and we have a very good team. Let's see what happens.”
Liverpool will hope that Arne Slot can build on their third-placed finish and lead them to their second Premier League title.
Virgil van Dijk will hope to take his side to glory as skipper, with the defender turning 33 soon. The Dutchman will also hope to add another European trophy to his impressive CV.
