Former Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has claimed that he didn't have any issues with Jadon Sancho's professionalism during his time at the club.

Rangnick took charge as a caretaker manager during the 2021-22 season after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked. Sancho played 21 games under Rangnick, scoring three goals and providing three assists.

The English winger recently completed a loan move to Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season. He was frozen out of the team after a public fallout with Erik ten Hag in September last year. Sancho refused to apologize after it to Ten Hag and remained ousted.

He has now joined Dortmund on loan, without a buy option included in the deal. Rangnick told Sky Germany that he expects the player to find his feet in Dortmund, the club where he once shone. He said about Sancho:

"He had his best time in Dortmund and, when he was healthy, he always played for me. However, he wasn't as carefree as in Dortmund. But that was also due to the overall situation."

Rangnick said about managing Sancho:

"When he was fit, he was set and did well under me. He no longer had a chance in Manchester. He now has to get back into a rhythm and really into shape in Dortmund. From his point of view, the change makes perfect sense."

Rangnick also added that he never had any problem with Sancho at Manchester United and even praised the player, saying:

"In the six months I had him, there wasn't a single discipline problem. On the contrary. He is a calm and pleasant guy."

Sancho rose to prominence during his time at Borussia Dortmund, scoring 50 goals and providing 64 assists in 137 appearances. The impressive performances earned the winger a reported €85 million move to Manchester United in 2021.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag wishes success to Jadon Sancho after Dortmund move

Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho fell out after the former said that the attacker wasn't in the squad to face Arsenal earlier in the season due to training badly. Sancho then put up a social media post, hitting back at his manager, which he later deleted.

Albeit the saga, the Manchester United manager sent a classy message to Sancho after his loan transfer. He told the media (via United In Focus):

“I hope he’s doing well, so I wish him the best of good luck. That’s it. I hope he’s doing well, and he’ll be a success.”

Jadon Sancho played 44 games under Ten Hag, scoring seven goals and providing three assists. It is worth noting that his loan transfer to Dortmund doesn't have a buy clause.
