Cristiano Ronaldo rejected the runners-up medal after the Saudi Super Cup final loss
Cristiano Ronaldo was frustrated at his team's performance in the Saudi Super Cup final and didn't take part in the medal presentation after the game. The Knights of Najd suffered a humiliating 4-1 loss to rivals Al-Hilal at the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium in Abha on Saturday, August 17.
The 39-year-old put his side up in the game in the first half but they were stunned with four goals in 17 minutes by the opposition. Ronaldo was not happy with his teammates for taking their foot off the pedal and even gestured that they were sleeping at one point before a restart.
Now, after the game, he stormed off the pitch and did not join his Al-Nassr teammates to receive a runners-up medal. Ronaldo's frustration is understandable because Al-Hilal have shown superiority over them in recent times.
Last season, Al-Nassr were eliminated in the semi-final of the Saudi Super Cup by Al-Hilal. They also lost the Kings Cup and finished second in the league behind the Saudi Pro League champions.
