Head Coach Ruben Amorim of Sporting CP looks on during the match between Sporting CP and Estrela da Amadora.

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has given his opinion on what working with Ruben Amorim may feel like. The 30-year-old played for Sporting CP from 2017 to 2020, and Manchester United's new head coach will arrive at Old Trafford on 11 November from the same club.

Although Fernandes did not work with Amorim at Sporting, he confessed to watching a lot of videos of Sporting, stating that they were his 'team.' Speaking after United's 1-1 draw to Chelsea in the EPL on Sunday, 3 November, the Portuguese heaped praise on his compatriot.

According to noted sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, Fernandes said that he knows how Sporting play. However, he mentioned that he does not know what Amorim will bring to Old Trafford given that United have a different group of players to those at Sporting.

"I watch all Sporting games, they are my team there… so I know how they play. You never know what a manager is going to do, because we have different players," said Fernandes.
"They said that he (Amorim) brought the excitement back to the club. It was a club that was a little bit split between the board, the fans and the players, so it was quite tough for him when he came. He brought everyone together and ended up winning two titles in four seasons," he added.

Manchester United are ranked in the 13th position of the EPL table at the moment

Manchester United are going through one of their most horrendous seasons in the Premier League, and are ranked in the 13th position at the moment. They have won just three out of 10 matches they have played so far, losing three and drawing four.

United have also struggled to score goals this season, finding the back of the net on just nine occasions. Defensively, meanwhile, they have leaked 12 goals, which adds up to a goal difference of -3. The Red Devils have won just one out of the last five matches they have played.
