Lamine Yamal has expressed his desire for Barcelona to go on and win the LaLiga title this season. The Spaniard's comments came after Barcelona defeated arch-rivals Real Madrid 4-0 in EL Clasico on Saturday (October 26).

Yamal was on the scoresheet as he played a vital role in helping Blaugrana register their 10th win (11 outings) of the LaLiga 2024-25 campaign.

During a post-match interview, Yamal was quoted saying (via journalist Fabrizio Romano's X):

"I want to say: visca Barça (Long Live Barca)! Let’s go and win La Liga, we go for it now."

Hansi Flick's men were clinical in front of goal as Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring in the 54th minute. Two minutes later (56'), Alejandro Balde sent a decent cross into the penalty box, as Lewandowski timed his header to perfection to make the scoreline 2-0.

In the 77th minute, Yamal scored a brilliant goal after receiving a pass from Raphinha. Real Madrid's defenders were caught napping in the 84th minute as Raphinha chipped the ball over Andriy Lunin, making the final scoreline 4-0.

Blaugrana have now amassed 30 points from 11 league games. They are six points above second-placed Real Madrid in the standings which gives them a decent edge in the early title race.

While many predicted Hansi Flick's reign as Blaugrana's manager to be difficult, given the financial circumstances surrounding the club, the German has been outstanding.

The 59-year-old has been able to put his tactic into good use, as Barcelona's results have been decent in recent months.

He could also be credited since players such as Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, and Raphinha have done well during his early reign. This is based on the fact that Blaugrana’s attack has netted the most goals in the LaLiga this season (37). Real Madrid are next with 21 goals.

Flick's team are on the right track, as Barcelona are currently ranked first in the LaLiga standings. Similarly, they have registered six points from three games in the UEFA Champions League, including a 4-1 win against Bayern Munich on Wednesday (October 23).

If Flick could keep the team compact, there's a decent chance he could bring back Blaugrana's glory days.
