Barcelona midfielder Pablo Torre is keen to make a statement in his side's El Classico clash against Real Madrid today (October 26). The 21-year-old has been phenomenal for Blaugrana so far in this campaign, registering three goals and one assist in five La Liga games.
The Catalan giants currently sit atop the LaLiga standings with nine wins and one loss from their opening 10 games. The 2023 Spanish champions are keen to regain their crown at the end of the current campaign and will hope to take a step toward doing that when they face their eternal rivals.
In a recent interview, Torre insisted that his team was looking forward to the clash, telling Diario AS:
"It was a difficult week and it will continue to be so, and a win at the Bernabéu would mean a lot to us. In the end, we would still be first and I think we could make a statement. There is still a lot of the League left but we need those three points."
Real Madrid are currently undefeated in LaLiga and will be keen to close the three-point gap between them and Barcelona with an El Classico victory.
"Nobody keeps me awake at night" - Real Madrid manager unbothered by Barcelona ahead of El Classico clash
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is not losing any sleep ahead of his side's El Classico clash against Barcelona. The two rivals will clash at the Santiago Bernabeu for the 11th round of fixtures in LaLiga in a match that could have a serious impact on the race for the league title.
Both sides head into the game off the back of fine results in the UEFA Champions League. The Blaugrana enjoyed a dominant 4-1 over Bayern Munich while Los Blancos beat Borussia Dortmund 5-2.
The result sees the Italian manager in a confident mood before kickoff and he told the press ahead of the match (via Barca Blaugranes):
“Fortunately, at the moment, nobody keeps me awake at night, [Barcelona] are doing very well. But in a match like the Clasico, it’s very difficult to pick a favorite beforehand. It depends on the dynamics of the match. It’s a matter of how you are able to handle the pressure, to deal with the tempo and how to identify the moments of the match."
He concluded:
“Barca have a very clear idea of how they play the game, they are performing very well. They are a very brave team and we need to prepare well for the game and try to play our best version.”
Real Madrid has not lost a competitive El Classico fixture since 2023 and will be keen to maintain their impressive record against their opponents. The Blaugrana will be keen to end their rivals' streak and cement their position at the top of the league standings.
