Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has claimed that the squad has to change the way they make use of striker Erling Haaland. Guardiola's latest comments come as City are looking to remedy their poor run of form.
Haaland, a formidable finisher, has scored just once in his last five games. While City have won just one out of their last 12 games across all competitions. At a press conference ahead of his side's Premier League clash against Everton on December 26, Guardiola said (via 90Min):
"When Erling was so prolific, it was about us, the team. But when you have problems at the back and middle, it is all about the team. Not just one player. If it's just one player, it would be easy to see the reason why. It's not about that.
He added:
"Erling is so important for us and will be so important for us. We need to use him better."
Haaland has scored 18 goals and registered one assist in 24 games for Manchester City this season. The Cityzens are currently seventh in the Premier League table with 27 points, twelve behind league leaders Liverpool, who also have a game in hand.
Manchester City interested in signing Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United - Reports
According to Fichajes.net, Manchester City are willing to offer West Ham United €80 million as they look to sign Mohammed Kudus. This comes after recent signing Savinho has failed to score while struggling to impress on the right wing this season.
City's recent struggles have made them go in search of quality players as Pep Guardiola looks to remedy the unwanted situation.
Kudus has proven to be a tricky and formidable winger for the Hammers in recent times. Despite West Ham United's inconsistency this season, he has scored three goals and registered two assists in 14 appearances.
The 24-year-old is a versatile player that could feature multiple attacking positions including the attacking midfield position. Kudus is also creative with the ball and he's a player that could score from range if given the opportunity to shoot.
The aforementioned report claimed that the Hammers are not looking to sell Kudus but City's offer could be difficult to turn down.
