Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has named the teammate with whom he shares the closest bond at Anfield. The English defender said he was particularly close to Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah, and opened up about their understanding on the pitch.
Alexander-Arnold and Salah have shared 23136 minutes on the pitch across 297 games, averaging 2.18 points per game and combining for 18 goals. Speaking in a recent interview with Stadium Astro, the defender said (via the Koptimes):
“I’d say Mo if I’m honest, I’d say me and Mo, how long we’ve known each other and how long we’ve played together. Our bond and connection especially on the pitch. We just understand the way we play we never moan at each other. We just respect each other’s style of play. Sometimes I overlap and he ignores me, but I know if I don’t pass to him he’s thinking the same thing.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Salah are currently in the final year of their respective contracts with Liverpool and could leave the Merseyside club for free in the summer of 2025 if they don't sign an extension.
Trent Alexander-Arnold highlights Liverpool's title ambitions
In a recent interview, Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold shared his side's ambitions for the Premier League title. The Merseyside club head into the festive period at the top of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League tables after a stellar start to the campaign.
The English giants have mounted a strong challenge in every competition they are a part of. And their English defender believes they could win multiple trophies by the end of the campaign. Speaking with Sky Sports, Alexander-Arnold said:
"I think we can win multiple trophies. I think that's the level that we're at. That's the level we've shown that we're capable of, beating the best teams in the world. Of course, this is where we want to be. It is still early days, so we can't get too excited. But if you told us this at the start of the season, we'd have massive smiles on our faces.
"We're in a very, very good position, very strong position - more so in the league than the Champions League because it then becomes knockout football and what you've done so far doesn't really matter. We just need to stay consistent over the next few months and put ourselves in the best position possible."
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been solid for Liverpool this season, providing five assists in 1591 minutes across 21 games for the Premier League leaders. They next face newly promoted Leicester City at home on Boxing Day.
