Jamie Carragher has warned Manchester United that they will struggle to sell Marcus Rashford. He believes that the Englishman is not a world-class superstar and that his wages will be a stumbling block.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher stated that Rashford will not make Manchester United's best XI under Ruben Amorim. He added that it is time for the Englishman to leave Old Trafford but believes that he would struggle to get a club to match his wages.

"I think in some ways, it feels a bigger decision than it actually is. I mean, is Marcus Rashford in the best XI? Really? How good is he? We’re not talking about a world-class superstar here. I actually think we talk about Marcus Rashford too much, to be honest. He’s a good player – not a great player. It is time for him to leave the club. Whether there will be any takers with the wages the lad is on, who knows."

As per a report in Metro, Rashford earns £300,000 per week at Manchester United. The forward has another £75,000 in bonuses per week, making him one of the highest-paid players in the league.

Former PL striker predicted Manchester United's decision to sell Marcus Rashford

Gabby Agbonlahor spoke about Marcus Rashford in November and claimed that the new Manchester United manager would be looking to sell the Englishman. He claimed that the forward is not suited for the tactics the manager is bringing in and said:

“Remember when you broke into the first team, how you felt, how happy you were, how you loved playing for Man United, how you celebrated goals, how you were the hardest worker on the pitch? You’re 27, before you know it you’ll be in your 30s. Do you want to go down the [Jesse] Lingard route?”
“[Amorim’s] come into United to succeed, he’s not come in to just pick players who have been there for a while. If you’re not at it, some of these players have got six months to the summer window. If you’re not at it you’re gone… There’s probably not space for both Garnacho and Rashford. Looking at a 3-4-3 you’d probably say Garnacho, [Rasmus] Højlund, and maybe an Amad [Diallo] that you’d pick.”

Manchester United have slapped a £55 million price tag on the 27-year-old as per latest reports. However, some reports claim that they would accept around £40 million in January.
