Alejandro Garnacho's brother Roberto has boldly backed Manchester United to win the Premier League title next season. The Argentine defended his stance when fans questioned him.
Roberto Garnacho, Alejandro's younger brother, is a lively presence on social media while his sibling lights up Old Trafford with stellar performances. He gave an intriguing take on what he expects from Erik ten Hag's men next season. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
"Im saying something and im leaving this app again , We winning the premier league."
Several fans asked whether Roberto was being serious, and he was adamant it was a genuine prediction:
"Im being completely serious , save this tweet , ss it , I don’t care , you will see."
Manchester United head into the 2023-24 campaign off the back of the worst Premier League season in their history. They finished eighth in the league with 60 points, 14 defeats in 38 games. Ten Hag's side were a massive 31 points off champions Manchester City.
However, a new era is dawning at Old Trafford with INEOS' co-ownership in full swing. This has seen new faces arrive, with Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee, 23, and French defensive wonderkid Leny Yoro, 18, new additions.
Alejandro Garnacho was one of Manchester United's standout performers last season. The Argentine gem posted 10 goals and five assists in 50 games across competitions.
The 20-year-old winger netted the opener in United's 2-1 win against City in the FA Cup final. Many consider that victory the reason INEOS has kept Ten Hag in charge.
"The heart and soul" - Sir Alex Ferguson hailed Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo
Alejandro Garnacho came to the fore last season and shined alongside fellow Red Devils academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo. The English midfield wonderkid enjoyed a remarkable breakout season at Old Trafford.
Mainoo, 19, quickly established himself as an integral member of Ten Hag's first team. He made 32 appearances across competitions, scoring five goals and providing one assist.
Sir Alex Ferguson knows all about putting faith in young academy talent at Manchester United. The legendary Scot oversaw the rise of icons such as Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, and David Beckham.
Ferguson waxed lyrical about Garnacho and Mainoo and urged United to build the team around them. He told TikToker Jamal Niaz:
"It’s the foundation isn’t it? It’s the heart and soul of what Manchester United has been since the days of Sir Matt Busby, who started the whole process of trusting young players playing."
He added:
"They’re young. What they’re showing at the moment, the composure and confidence to play in the first team, and not be daunted by it. In a way, it shows you the kind of courage they have. It’s a distinction in human beings, some have the will to be that [fearless at a young age]."
Manchester United have an exciting crop of youngsters in their first team with Yoro expected to be a revelation. The French defender joins Garnacho and Mainoo in the top 10 current rankings for the Golden Boy award.
