Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo recently opened up on his difficult start to life at Chelsea. The Ecuadorian took some time to adjust after completing a £115 million move from Brighton and Hove Albion.
The 22-year-old suggested while the setup with the Seagulls was highly tactical, the more physical style with the Blues meant he found it hard early on.
Speaking to Ecuadorian television network Teleamazonas, he said (via CFCPys on Twitter):
“At Brighton it was all tactical, just with the ball; 'tactical, tactical, tactical' and at Chelsea, it was run, run, run and it was very difficult for me”
"With Chelsea, I always ran a bit more and with Brighton, we almost always had the ball, with Chelsea it was a different football and we had to run more," he added.
As the season wore on, Caicedo began to find his footing, notching a string of impressive performances. His pickup in form coincided with the Blues overcoming a poor start of their own to finish sixth in the Premier League. He finished the season with one goal and four assists to his name in 48 games across competitions.
He has carried his good form into the Copa America for Ecuador, performing as arguably La Tri's best player. He bagged one assist while having more interceptions and tackles combined (20) than anyone in the tournament prior to their clash against Argentina.
Chelsea willing to offer two players plus cash deal to sign Napoli star
Chelsea are looking to make a move for Napoli star Victor Osimhen. According to TEAMtalk, the Blues are unwilling to match his €130 million release clause and are looking to add players to the deal to bring the fee down.
The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Trevoh Chalobah, Armando Broja, and Cesare Casadei have been mentioned. Depending on the Blues' valuation of each player, they are looking to offer a transfer fee along with the players to entice Napoli.
Osimhen has been a target for Chelsea for almost two seasons now. The Nigerian star bagged 17 goals and provided four assists in 32 games in all competitions last campaign and could be a great addition to the squad in need of a traditional number nine.
On the other end, Lukaku could enjoy a reunion with Antonio Conte, who has been hired at Napoli. The Italian brought the best out of the striker at Inter Milan when they won Serie A in 2020-21 when he bagged 30 goals and 10 assists in 44 games across competitions in the season.
