William Saliba has stated that Arsenal are not concerned about the seven-point difference as they are ready to challenge Liverpool for the Premier League title. The Gunners are currently third in the league table with 28 points in 14 matches.

Later today, they will face Fulham at the Craven Cottage as they aim to lessen the point seven-point difference. Liverpool's clash against Sean Dyche's Everton was postponed on Saturday, December 7 for safety concerns. As a result, the Gunners can decrease the gap to only four points with the Reds for some time.

While speaking to the Mirror, the French defender stated that more than half of the season remains and different outcomes can be witnessed in the English top-tier football. William Saliba also stated that his side has learned that from the last two seasons, where they finished second despite being in first place for a long period.

He said:

"Everything is possible. The season is very long and we've experienced that in the past two years. We just have to focus on ourselves. We're still only in December so there are a lot of things that can happen."

Earlier this week, Arsenal defeated Manchester United 2-0 while the Reds played a 3-3 draw against Newcastle United. The result helped the North London club bridge the point difference from nine to seven.

Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly the frontrunners to sign Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)'s Xavi Simons next summer, as per the Athletic. The Dutchman is currently playing for Bundesliga side RB Leipzig on a loan deal from PSG.

The La Masia product joined PSG in July 2019. In 2022, Xavi Simons left the Ligue 1 giants to join Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven on a free transfer. Next year, PSG again signed the 21-year-old but since then, he has been on a loan to RB Leipzig.

His loan deal with RB Leipzig will expire in the summer of 2025 and Luis Enrique's side is yet to make a decision on Simons' future in the French capital. As a result, the possibility of Les Parisians selling the Dutch midfielder is high.

According to the aforementioned report, Mikel Arteta's Arsenal and Arne Slot's Liverpool are among the other clubs interested in signing the 21-year-old. Simons' transfer fee is expected to be around €80 million.
