Manchester United fans have lambasted Antony after the Brazilian winger taunted Coventry City fans after his side's FA Cup semifinal win today (April 21).
The Red Devils got the job done but came away from the game with no plaudits. Erik ten Hag's men were 3-0 ahead thanks to goals from Scott McTominay (23'), Harry Maguire (45+1') and Bruno Fernandes (58').
However, Manchester United capitulated with 30 minutes of regulation time remaining. Ellis Simms (71'), Callum O'Hare (79') and Haji Wright (90+5 P') took the tie to extra time.
Coventry thought they'd pulled off the most remarkable comeback victory in FA Cup history in the 120+1st minute. Danish forward Victor Torp netted what looked like a famous winner but VAR broke the EFL Championship outfit's hearts.
Manchester United booked their place in the final against Manchester City with a 4-2 win on penalties. Rasmus Hojlund struck the winning penalty and Antony took the opportunity to boast in front of Coventry players.
Antony cupped his hand to his ears towards the Sky Blues supporters. The Brazil international came on during the game in the 66th minute and had little to no impact.
The Old Trafford faithful have hit out at the former Ajax winger for his 'shameless' antics.
One fan insisted Antony didn't represent Manchester United:
"This guy is not a Manchester United player. What a disgrace."
Another fan dubbed Antony a clown:
"He's a clown another one who doesn't deserve to pull on the Man Utd shirt."
Here's how other fans on X (formerly Twitter) reacted to Antony's taunting of Coventry players after United just about prevented a giant killing:
"Sell him fast," demanded one fan.
"Generational stinker and he has the audacity to act like this," another fan highlighted.
"Just terminate his contract along with ETH's," one fan wants the winger and his manager gone.
"He should be very quiet. Another terrible performance by our one trick pony. So embarrassing," another fan stated.
Clinton Morrison warns Manchester United's Antony to focus on himself after his post-match antics
Clinton Morrison was less than impressed with Antony's actions in the aftermath of United's FA Cup semifinal victory. The former Crystal Palace striker brutally warned the Brazilian that he could soon be playing in the second tier of English football (via BBC 5 Live):
"He needs to concentrate on himself because he could be playing the Championship next season."
Antony has struggled since joining United from Ajax in August 2022 in an £85 million deal. He's managed just two goals and as many assists in 33 games across competitions this season.
The under-fire winger has dropped down the pecking order with Ten Hag preferring left winger Alejandro Garnacho at right wing. His temperament has been questioned during his time at Old Trafford and his form has been a concern.
