Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah reacted to being compared to Egypt teammate Omar Marmoush. The Reds superstar discouraged the comparisons, explaining it would only put the Eintracht Frankfurt striker under pressure.
Omar Marmoush has been one of the standout performers in Europe's top-five leagues so far this season. The Egyptian has bagged 14 goals and 10 assists for Eintracht Frankfurt in 16 appearances across all competitions.
His brilliant performances reportedly haven't gone unnoticed. The striker is said to be being monitored closely by several big clubs across Europe, including Liverpool.
With Mohamed Salah already in the final year of his contract in Merseyside, speculations have linked Marmoush with a move to Anfield. While the speculation builds up, comparisons are already being made between the two players who have stood out for club and country.
However, Salah isn't enjoying those comparisons. According to him, they'd only bring pressure upon Marmoush and harm his potential. Salah said at the Sharjah International Book Fair (via Egyptian outlet WinWin):
"Omar Marmoush, incredibly talented and currently a key player for his club and the national team. But I hope he can stay away from comparisons because they will keep putting him under constant pressure.
"I just want him to avoid the idea of comparisons. People need to stop comparing him to me, saying he’s 'the new Salah' and that he’ll do what I did or even better, this doesn’t help him; it only puts him under constant pressure."
"You can’t compare him to a player who has achieved so much over the years while he’s just starting out. Let him live his own experience and enjoy it. He’s doing something different, in his own unique way," he added.

Up next, the Reds will go head-to-head with Southampton in the English top flight after the international break. The fixture, scheduled for Sunday, November 24, will take place at Saint Mary's Stadium.
