Manchester City fans have blasted Kyle Walker on X after he struggled to make an impact during their 2-0 loss against Liverpool. The two sides faced each other in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday, December 1.
Manchester City looked short of confidence in the first half and were fortunate not to go behind when Virgil van Dijk's header crashed against the post. However, Cody Gakpo tapped home from Mohamed Salah's excellent pass to give Liverpool the lead in the 12th minute. The Reds continued to probe for a second and doubled their advantage via Salah's 78th-minute penalty to seal all three points.
Walker was poor at right-back and came up second best against both Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz. The 34-year-old was dribbled past twice, lost three duels, and delivered zero accurate crosses going forward. He was also partly at fault for not marking Gakpo during Liverpool's opener.
One Manchester City fan posted:
"Walker you have to know when to call it quits"
Another fan tweeted:
"The football left walker since 2022"
Other fan reactions can be viewed below:
"If I ever see Walker in the lineup again I won’t be watching," one fan commented
"Walker is so so sooooo finished," another added
"Kyle Walker leave the football before the football leaves you… it’s already left him," one fan tweeted
"Kyle Walker’s awareness of what is around him gets worse, and worse, and worse with every passing week," another chimed in
