Football fans on social media believe Bayer Leverkusen have mocked Arsenal with their latest X post featuring Granit Xhaka.

Leverkusen sealed their first-ever Bundesliga title a few weeks ago and ended their league campaign with a 2-1 win over Augsburg on May 18. The result meant Xabi Alonso's side remained unbeaten across competitions, becoming the first-ever invincible team in the German top flight.

Meanwhile, the Gunners' pursuit of a first Premier League title in 20 years ended in disappointment on Sunday, May 19. Despite their 2-1 win over Everton on Matchday 38, they lost the trophy to Manchester City, who beat West Ham United 3-1 to secure their fourth league title in a row.

Just minutes after the Gunners' game against the Toffees ended, Leverkusen posted an image of Xhaka celebrating their Bundesliga win. The Swiss joined the newly-crowned German champions from the Premier League giants for a reported £21.4 million (via Sky Sports).

While Arsenal's season has come to an end, Xhaka and Leverkusen, thanks to their record-breaking 51-match unbeaten run across competitions, have two more titles to fight for.

Xabi Alonso's men will first take on Atalanta in the UEFA Europa League final at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on May 22. This will be followed by a clash against second-tier side Kaiserslautern in the DFB-Pokal final three days later.
