Niger and Sudan lock horns at the Stade de Kégué in neutral Togo on Thursday for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Without a single win to show in the campaign, the Menas are rock-bottom of Group F with just a single point in the bag.
That solitary point came courtesy of a 1-1 draw with Ghana on matchday two, as Oumar Sako equalized for them with less than 10 minutes of normal time remaining.
All their other qualifying outings have ended in defeat, including a 1-0 loss to Angola last month.
Ranked 131st in the world, Ezzaki Badou's side are looking to make their first appearance in the AFCON finals since 2013. But those hopes are now fast fading, and the West African side cannot afford to drop any more points with only two more fixtures remaining.
By contrast, Sudan are up in second position in their group with seven points in four games. Ranked 110th in the world, the North African side are on course to qualify for the AFCON finals for the first time in their history.
A draw would be enough for them to officially seal their place in the Moroccan showpiece, unless Ghana beat Angola, in which case it will go down to the last matchday.
