A few months back Nike introduced us Magista Obra and it has garnered the attention of boot fans all over the world. Among the myriad of boots that was introduced during the world cup season Magista Obra stands head and shoulders above the rest. Nike surprised us all with its unique and revolutionary design.
Utilising Flyknit technology for the first time in football, the Magista brings the foot closer to the ball without compromising protection or durability for an almost barefoot feel. It gives a whole another feel than any other boot that has ever released.
Nike has certainly surprised all of us with Magista Obra’s unique design. This is the first time that this kind of design is implemented on a football boot. The Flyknit Dynamic Fit Collar from ankle to the upper heel and lower part of the heel is covered with a thin layer of foam. Granted this look is not for all, but still it stands out above the rest.
Flyknit upper incorporated with NikeSkin gives a cushioned feel for the ball. You can only understand how comfortable this boot is only when you put it on. The entire upper of the covers your feet and the dynamic fit collar give a comfort fit and feel. Even the tongue of the boot is an extension of the upper. It provides a snug fit in all the right places.
Magista Obra gives a great fit than any other boot available in the market. Everything in the boot is made to give it an unprecedented fit. The Flyknit upper closely forms around the shape of your foot and the Dynamic Fit Collar locks your foot in the boot. These boots are suitable for medium or wide feet. But don’t think that this will offer a loose fit for the wide feet like Hypervenom does.
Thanks to the Flyknit upper you get a cushioned feeling on the ball. This gives a good control over the ball. Since every part of upper has equivalent thickness you get to feel the ball evenly. When you touch the upper you can feel a sort of hardness on the surface thanks to the NikeSkin layer and the cushioning of the Flyknit makes kicking more natural.
Even though the Flyknit gives a cushioned feeling the material is still pretty thin. So you can pretty much feel some of the force while you strike the ball. This comes pretty handy when you strike very hard, the stinging feeling is reduced, and still you’ll pretty much feel control over the ball. The laces are moved towards middle side of the boot to give a larger area for controlling the ball.
The nylon outsole is highly responsive while making directional changes. The outsole quickly responses while you slow your pace to make a directional change. This along with the studs underneath the sole provides great traction and makes the directional changes easier.
The Flykniy upper along with NikeSkin and ACC is ensures durability and consistent performance. This boot can be used in the wet weather but the dynamic collar is vulnerable to stains since it doesn’t have ACC.
This boot is perfect for the centre mids and playmakers who likes to get on the ball and create from behind the front line. This is pegged as the silo for ”unstoppable playmaking”. This will not be suitable for the backliners or the front liners though.
Magista Obra is one of the best football boots available in the market as of now. It clearly stands out from all the boots that are currently in the market. For all those who are upset that CTR360 was discontinued, please don’t be. This one is a worthy successor.
