Every Premier League fan will be waiting for the September 27th as traditional rivals take on each other with Everton travelling to Anfield in a Merseyside derby while Arsenal host their north London rivals, on a mouth-watering Super Saturday. In these types of games, 3 points are secondary. What matters the most is the pride and the bragging rights.
The Gunners embark on their first north London derby of the season. Last season they did the double over Spurs in the league, winning both home and away game by the scoreline 1-0. Arsenal also defeated Spurs in the second round of the FA Cup, which they eventually went on to win and ended the trophy drought of silverware.

Arsenal started their season with a London derby against Crystal Palace. Aaron Ramsey won the game for the Gunners as he scored in 90th minute. After this match, Arsenal drew 3 matches on the trot, both away games against Everton and Leicester City and home game against champions Manchester City. They travelled to the Midlands last weekend, thrashing Aston Villa 3-0. But in games on either side of that victory, Arsenal were outplayed by Borussia Dortmund in a 2-0 loss at Westfalenstadion and knocked out of the Capital One Cup by Southampton few days ago.
Arsene Wenger is yet to find best formation for this Arsenal side as they have plenty of players who desire to play in the middle. They have plenty of strength in the midfield but they lack genuine winger. As always, this team is cursed with injuries and have no cover for the defenders. Calum Chambers have to play as the right back as Mathieu Debuchy is ruled out for two months while Nacho Monreal will return to the action after international break. They sold Thomas Vermaelen and didn’t replace him. The defensive midfield also looks shaky with club captain Mikel Arteta not performing up to the expectations and only dodgy Flamini is the other alternative to play ahead of the defence. Return of Abou Diaby is a good thing to plug the holes in that position but he has to stay fit.

On the other hand, Spurs also had inconsistent start to their campaign. After bright start to the League season, as they won first two games, they faltered on the road as they failed to win the next three. They drew against Partizan Belgrade in UEFA Europa League in the midweek before losing at White Hart Lane by the hands of West Bromwich Albion. Spurs ended their four match winless run in all competitions as they beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 in the Capital One Cup. Midfielder Andros Townsend returned after a slight injury in Wednesday night’s win over Forest.
Right-back Kyle Walker remains the only major absentee as he recovers from pelvic injury. The last time Spurs won a game on Arsenal’s turf was in November 2010. Arsenal did lead the game by 2-0 till the half time. But goals in the latter half from Bale, van der Vaart and a winner from Younus Kaboul in 85th minute sealed the victory for the Lillywhites. Mauricio Pochettino will hope that his side turn up on the day.
Former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor, Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Nacer Chadli are all set to make it to the starting lineup as they were rested by the Argentine for the league cup game.
