Team News
Norwich
- Norwich City fell to a disappointing 4-1 defeat to Arsenal at the weekend and will be looking to bounce back and secure a winnable 3 points against Cardiff City.
- Manager Chris Hughton was without striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel for the loss and despite the Dutchman suffering from a slight knock, he’s expected to recover in time to lead the line.
- Elliott Bennett will miss out through injury, while Johan Elmander is a doubt.
Cardiff
- Cardiff City, like Norwich, succumbed to a demoralising 4-1 defeat in the capital on Saturday, with Chelsea dispatching of their Premier League counterparts with ease.
- Andreas Cornelius remains sidelined with a problematic ankle injury, but manager Malky Mackay faces no further injury worries.
- Kim Bo-Kyung could come into midfield for the ineffectual Aron Gunnarsson alongside Gary Medal, while Jordon Mutch is expected to make his second start of the season for the Bluebirds following his goal on Saturday.
Prediction
- Norwich have won just once in the Premier League at home this season, but will be buoyed by their recent run of performances against Cardiff, where they’ve secured victory in 7 of their last 10 meetings at Carrow Road against the Bluebirds in all competitions.
- Cardiff’s problems this season lie in their poor defensive record, where they’ve conceded 13 goals. Having kept just 1 clean sheet in 8 league games this term, the south Wales side will need to improve at the back if they’re to secure a positive result against the Canaries
- With the two teams capable to scoring, but unable to prevent goals, this has the makings for a high scoring encounter.
Norwich 2 - 2 Cardiff
