Italian side Inter Milan have confirmed through their twitter account @inter that Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic will be playing for them next season.
“Vidic is a world-class player. I’m extremely happy to have completed this deal to bring Nemanja to Milan,” said Inter’s President Erick Thohir while talking to inter.it.
“He’s one of the world’s best defenders and his qualities, international pedigree and charisma will be an asset to the team and help bring through our younger players. He will bring added value to the club and is another piece of the great Inter side we are building.”
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Manchester United, Nemanja and his entourage for the professional and cooperative approach they have shown throughout the negotiations.”
Vidic will be joining Inter for free as his contract with Manchester United will be expiring at the end of the season.
Born in Titovo Užice, Vidic made his professional debut for Spartak Subotica in 2000/01, and then moved to Red Star Belgrade, followed by another move to Russian side Spartak Moscow. He made his move to his current side Manchester united back in 2005/06 where to date he has made 204 Premier League appearances.
He has won five Premier League titles, three League Cups, five Charity Shields, a Champions League and a Club World Cup with the Red Devils.
