Marko Marin has officially been sent to Sevilla on a season-long loan. Can’t say I didn’t see this coming – with how little he featured last season, it was always hard to see him getting much time under Mou this year, especially in light of the Schurrle signing and recalling KDB from Bremen.
This is a great move by CFC (and Marin). If you consider the huge hole left by the departure of Jesus Navas to Man City, I think he’ll be able to work his way into the starting lineup and really get a chance to prove himself on a more consistent basis. Being honest, he was pretty dreadful at times last season – and I say that intending no disrespect towards him. It’s hard to find form when you’re playing once a month, and as a 75thminute sub at best. During his time at Werder Bremen, he’s shown he does have quality to offer, and I think some consistent playing time will be good help for him to recover his form.
