Arsenal might miss the services of French striker Olivier Giroud in the Champions League opener against Marseille.
Giroud, who had scored five goals in six matches previously, will be missed heavily by the Premier League giants. Arsene Wenger confirmed Theo Walcott could be an option if Giroud is not passed fit. He also had some concern over the health new signing Mesut Ozil.
Wenger was quoted saying: “We have a few problems, some with Ozil but the main one is Giroud, who has a knee problem.
“He will have a test tomorrow and hopefully he will be fit but it will only be decided tomorrow.
“Ozil was ill and has some tight muscles after Saturday but I think he will be okay and we are optimistic.”
On asked about Arsenal’s dodgy away performance in Champions League, the French manager mentioned that their fortune had changed since last March when they defeated Bayern Munich 2-0 at Munich.
