Oman and Qatar lock horns at the Sulaibikhat Stadium in Kuwait City on Tuesday for their second group encounter of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup. Interestingly, both sides drew their opening clashes 1-1.
Ranked 80th in the world, the Reds pegged back the hosts, Kuwait, on Friday. Yousef Nasser had put the Blue Waves in front after 34 minutes, but Issam Al-Sabhi equalized for Oman eight minutes later.
Rashid Jaber's side had more possession (55%) and mustered more shots in the game (8), but struggled to carve out many clear-cut goalscoring opportunities. This could prompt the manager to make a few changes to the lineup for their next clash.
Abdulrahman Al-Mushaifri might be introduced in the attack to support Al-Sabhi, who should keep his place in the starting XI after the opening-day heroics. Midfielder Salaah Al-Yahyaei is another player gunning for a start in the team.
On the other hand, two-time defending Asian champions Qatar made an underwhelming start with a 1-1 stalemate against the UAE. Akram Afif struck a penalty in the 17th minute to break the deadlock for them, but Yahya Al-Ghassani restored parity for the Sons of Zayed in the added minutes of the opening stanza.
Nonetheless, it was still a much-improved performance from the Maroons, who were brutally thrashed 5-0 by the same outfit just last month in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Oman vs Qatar Prediction
