Oriol Romeu signs new three-year deal with Chelsea

Spanish midfielder Oriol Romeu has signed a new three-year deal with Chelsea. The club has put out an official statement confirming the report. The deal will see Romeu, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Barcelona in 2011, now tied down until 2017.

The 22 year old has found so far found it hard to get first-team opportunities for the Blues and was forced to spend last season on loan at Valencia.

Last year saw the ex-Barcelona man make 33 appearances in all competitions for Valencia and has impressed Jose Mourninho ever since return to pre-season training for Chelseas.

Though not starring for Chelsea in recent seasons, Romeu still has time on his side (at the tender age of 22) to make an impression at Stamford Bridge. Romeu made 24 appearances for Chelsea in his debut season for before injuries cut short his progress.
