Chelsea midfielder Oscar has revealed that Jose Mourinho has been angry since the club’s defeat to Newcastle , claiming he is ‘scary’.
Speaking to Standard Sport, Oscar said: “Mr Mourinho has been very angry since the Newcastle game, very angry indeed and frustrated. We know his personality, and it is scary when he’s angry like this.
“It’s his job to get angry with us when we don’t do well. If we’d perhaps played great football and lost at Newcastle, it could have been put down to one of those things. But we’re a great team who didn’t play well and were punished.”
Oscar added that Mourinho is not the only angry one at Chelsea: “We’re all angry with ourselves and are upset. I am upset also. We have come into training since then and have got all our heads together.
“The rule in football is that whenever you lose, you’ve got to prove what you’re made of in the following game.
“Mr Mourinho felt like he made 11 mistakes in selection because we didn’t play well enough, so now whoever is selected will be keen to play at the level they are capable of so we can win. It’s important for us to beat Schalke because then we can stay top of the group.”
Chelsea play Schalke this evening in the Champions League just four days after losing at St James’ Park, a defeat Mourinho described as ‘the worst performance of the season’.
The Brazilian has created 13 chances in the Premier League this season. Only Eden Hazard has created more (19).
