On 27th September, 2013 FIFA 14 was released, which is the newest edition of Electronic Arts’ FIFA video game series. It has gone through a major change and it has a lot of new features.

Inside career mode

  • Player growth is now difficult to notice as there will be only a minor gain or loss after half a season play.
  • Player fatigue is an interesting aspect to look out for, with more players could be seen in the orange/red values. So the manager has to keep track for that as in-game fatigue is a bit harsh and will play a major role.
  • A new option has been added to Career Modes setup – “Disable first summer transfer window”.
  • 5 main navigation options are available for game information – Central, Squad, Transfers, Office and Season.
  • In email notification screen now Player Conversations will appear in their own tab itself.
  • Team formations can now be changed without going in to Team Management option. It can be done in Squad screen itself.

Global Scouting

  • When Career mode is started, 3 Global Transfer Network scouts will be available by default and you can have a maximum of 6 scouts.
  • To scout a player position, age group, contract length and traits should be chosen. Up to 6 traits can be selected to find a particular type of players.
  • Player stats and their potential transfer value will be known after detailed scouting reports. The more times a player is scouted, the more accurate the data becomes.
  • There is also an option for “Youth scouting” in Career Mode and it has no resemblance with Global Transfer Network and will cost additional money.

Transfers

  • A new option has been added to the transfer offer screen “Reject all/Disallow future offers” which will prevent all other clubs from persistently offering for players you does not want to sell at any price.
  • Now all the latest rumours, news and the biggest deals will be seen on one screen.

Commentary

  • Commentary will be more precise and interesting; they will discuss the previous match’s results and will also discuss current transfer rumours in more detail.
