United States v Bolivia - CONMEBOL Copa America USA 2024
Panama and USA square off in 2024 Copa America on Thursday.

The action continues in the 2024 Copa America as Panama and USA square off at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Group C on Thursday (June 27). Both sides head into the game off contrasting opening-day results, with Gregg Berhalter’s men cruising past Bolivia.

Panama were denied a dream start to their Copa America campaign, as they suffered a 3-1 hammering against Uruguay on Sunday. Maximiliano Araujo, Darwin Nunez and Matias Vina found the back of the net for Uruguay before Michael Murillo netted a 94th-minute consolation for Los Canaleros.

With their qualification hopes on the line, next up for Panama is the stern challenge of taking on an opposing side who are unbeaten in 22 of 26 meetings since 1993.

USA, meanwhile, kicked off their Copa America campaign on the right foot, as they picked up a comfortable 2-0 victory over Bolivia on Sunday. Christian Pulisic opened the scoring inside 180 seconds to hand the USMNT a dream start before Folarin Balogun doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time.

Following Uruguay’s victory over Panama in the other group fixture, Berhalter’s men are second in Group C and will secure their spot in the knockouts with a win.
