As per reports in Mirror, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew would let go of Papiss Cisse only if a hefty transfer amount is received. Papiss Cisse has just netted once for the Toons this season and also had lesser starts to the 2013-14 Premier league season.
Pardew commented, “I am sure, come January, a lot of teams will be looking at our situation – but they’d have to spend a lot of money.”
The Senegalese was rumored to be a part of a swap deal which would see him joining Queens Park Rangers and allow Loic Remy to sign for Newcastle on a permanent basis. Papiss Cisse has fallen down Alan Pardew’s pecking order and faces competition from Loic Remy, Shola Ameobi and Hatem Ben Arfa for first team action.
Reports also suggest that Papiss Cisse is still worth £7 million despite the amount of starts he is getting at Newcastle United and also the amount of goals he has scored this season.
Another club that were interested in Papiss Cisse was Borussia Dortmund who are looking to replace their Polish striker Robert Lewandowski whose contract ends this season. It was rumored that the Senegalese striker would be replacing Lewandowski at Dortmund.
