French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain have announced the signing of a €200 million a year sponsorship deal with Qatar Tourism Authority.
The deal was under the table last year but it was confirmed on Tuesday and hence the deal becomes the first ever state sponsored deal of its kind with PSG on the receiving end.
“Our association with the Qatar Tourism Authority allows us to give ourselves the means necessary for the development of the club in the direction that we envisage.
“It clearly benefits the image, as well as the results, of the club. QTA’s support enables us to offer our supporters a level of performance in keeping with their expectations and our ambitions,” said PSG CEO Jean- Claude Blanc.
The latest deal offloads PSG’s annual budget which has been 430 million Euros this year. But the club will have to submit the details of the deal to UEFA as the European governing body records it to meet the Financial Fair Play regulations.
