Paris Saint-Germain have secured a massive deal worth €150 million-per-year over the next four seasons with the Qatar Tourism Authority.
According to Le Parisien, QTA, a body linked to the Qatari State, made an agreement with the club that was revealed to the French football’s financial watchdog, the DNCG. It is not a sponsorship agreement but a “vast publicity campaign intended to promote the image of Qatar”, the paper adds.
The sum that makes PSG richer by €150 million this season could progressively increase to €200 million or more by 2015-2016, which includes bonuses for the team’s performances in the European competition.
This initial revenue will help balance PSG’s finance records for the current season, and keep them in line with UEFA Financial Fair Play guidelines. A recent France Football article had claimed only winning the Champions League this season would ensure the club met the UEFA criteria.
