Bayern Munich Player Ratings
Manuel Neuer - 8/10
The German legend was imperious for Bayern on the night. He made a massive early double save off Neymar, after the Brazilian was through on goal. In the second half, he spread himself brilliantly to deny Marquinhos.
Joshua Kimmich - 7/10
He kept his place at right-back, and delivered a terrific performance on a testing night. The pace of Mbappe was always going to trouble him on that side, and he was beaten on occasion, but recovered well enough. He made a massive contribution going forward too, with the assist for the winner.
Jerome Boateng - 5/10
Boateng was forced off early in the game, with an injury. He was replaced by Niklas Sule.
David Alaba - 6/10
Alaba was largely excellent, strong in the air, good recovery pace, and some very good tackles. But he could've been a big villain on the night after a stray pass to Mbappe in the build-up to PSG's best chance on the night, which they spurned.
Alphonso Davies - 5/10
The young Canadian wasn't quite at his best tonight. Especially at the start of the game, PSG targetted his side of the pitch. Kehrer and Di Maria doubled up on him. Eventually, though, he managed to come through a testing night unscathed.
Thiago Alcantara - 8/10
Thiago was magnificent in the middle of the park for Bayern. When they were under the pump, he took possession of the ball, and slowed things down to bring Bayern control. He also set Kimmich off for the move which eventually led to the goal.
Leon Goretzka - 5/10
Goretzka was a bit untidy in midfield. He kept committing niggly fouls, and wasn't really very clean in possession either.
Serge Gnabry - 5/10
The hero of the semifinal didn't have a very good game at all. Bernat had the better of him all game, and he couldn't quite cut in and link up with the likes of Muller and Lewandowski either.
Thomas Muller - 5/10
Marquinhos marshalled him beautifully in the middle of the park. He did find space on occasion, but that was shut down well by the PSG defenders.
Kingsley Coman - 7/10
He scored the biggest goal of his career, with an easy header, but one that he executed superbly. That goal was coming, too, after he was turning Kehrer inside out multiple times in the second half.
Roberto Lewandowski - 6/10
A constant source of annoyance for the PSG defenders, Lewandowski couldn't quite get his goal that would've completed the a set of 10 consecutive games in the Champions League with goals but at the end of a night in which he got the one medal that he was missing, he wouldn't be complaining.
Substitutes
Niklas Sule - 7/10
Sule was terrific after comingon to replace Boateng. Playing in such a big game on the back of a big injury setback and not playing too much football prior to this can't have been easy. But he used his strength and height to great effect, and was also superb in reading the play and making interceptions.
Ivan Perisic - 5/10
He didn't really have a massive impact on the game after replacing Gnabry.
Philippe Coutinho - 5/10
He came on to replace Coman in the second half, and had one chance off a free kick, but he put that wide.
Corentin Tolisso - 5/10
He was brought on for the last few minutes to replace Thiago, as Bayern saw out the game and won the trophy.
