Cristiano Ronaldo’s ex-Manchester United team-mate, Patrice Evra, has trolled the Portuguese on social media after his 4th Ballon d’Or win earlier this week. Evra and Ronaldo were team-mates in Sir Alex Ferguson’s side that lifted the Champions League trophy in the 2007-2008 season.
They spent four years playing together before Ronaldo moved to Spanish giants Real Madrid in an £80million deal. Evra, who is well known for his antics on Instagram, was at it again, poking fun at his old team-mate despite him winning the prestigious award.

Ronaldo received praise from all corners of the football universe, however, Evra decided to go a different way. The Frenchman chose to call him by a rather strange nickname – ‘Christian Dior’ before going on to remind the Madrid ace that he had still not reached their discussed target of five Ballon d’Or wins.
Evra’s message to his followers read, ‘You absolutely deserve it, Christian Dior… but do you remember we said you have to win 5 ballon d’Ors !!!’
To end it he added, ‘I love this game!!!! Hahahahhahahah.’
31-year-old Ronaldo has now won the Ballon d’Or four times, just one behind his main rival Lionel Messi who has five.
The Real Madrid talisman has not been in the same devastating form that he has shown in the past, this season, and has scored only 12 goals in all competitions so far for Los Blancos. However, he recently extended his stay at the Bernabeu by another five years after he signed a £365,000-a-week wage contract and he insisted that he will continue to play at this level for another 10 years.
When asked after signing his new contract if he could overtake Ferenc Puskas, who played till he was 39, he replied saying, “I think I can play till forty-one. I think I have got 10 years left.”
However, after winning the Ballon d’Or he stayed quite humble. “If Portugal or Real Madrid didn't win, I would not have won this. The team always comes first," he stated.
Despite his dip in form, if Ronaldo sees out his five-year deal, then he could beat Alfredo Di Stefano’s Real Madrid record of playing for 12 seasons at Real Madrid. The Portuguese is already their all-time top scorer and if he can play for another 10 years like he intends to, he will surely go down as one of the greatest ever to have graced the game.
