Genoa up for sale, confirms club president
Club president Enrico Preziosi has confirmed that he will sell Genoa if a compelling offer comes.
The Serie A outfit barely avoided relegation last season, picking up just 38 points from the same number of games. They also lost their star striker Krzysztof Piatek to AC Milan in the January transfer window.
“The club is for sale. I’m tired and, if I get a serious offer, I’ll sell. If not, I’ll have to stay on.
“Stefano Capozucca will return as sporting director; we’ve already reached an agreement and he’ll come back to lend us a hand. If things go well, we can resume our journey together.”
Preziosi also revealed his interest for Empoli boss Aurelio Andreazzoli.
“I like Aurelio Andreazzoli. He’s a Coach that I like, but he’s still under contract with Empoli, as are other coaches we’re looking at. They’ll have to resolve their contracts before we can make a decision on them.
“We’re moving towards terminating Prandelli’s contract and we’re looking for an agreement that makes both parties happy.
“We’ll have to sort that out before appointing a new coach.”
