Manchester United midfield veteran Paul Scholes has announced his retirement from football post the end of the current season.Scholes, 38, has enjoyed a stellar career at Manchester United making 716 appearances winning 11 league titles, 3 FA Cups and 2 UEFA Champions League trophies in the process.
Here is his statement while making the announcement:
“Yes, I am finally hanging up my boots for good! Playing football is all I have ever wanted to do, and so to have had such a long and successful career at Manchester United, under the greatest manager of all time, has been an honour. The team has the right balance and will continue to thrive under the leadership of David Moyes.”
This comes just days after legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson announced his retirement.
