The 22-year-old Juventus forward, Paulo Dybala wants his “idol”, Lionel Messi to join him at the Juventus Stadium. The current Juve ‘Number 21’ signed for 'The Old Lady of Turin’ last year from Palermo for a massive transfer fee.
The Argentina international scored his first league goal for Juventus in the 87th minute of a 2-1 defeat to Roma in the earlier stages of the Serie A. Paulo Dybala has already racked up 14 league goals in the 29 appearances that he has made for his current club.
In a recent interview given to an Italian newspaper, Corriere della Serra, Dybala expressed his desire to play alongside his childhood idol and fellow Argentine footballer, Lionel Messi at the Serie A side.
The 22-year-old has already played alongside Lionel Messi for the Argentina national side, having made his debut for the national team in 2015.
“He's my idol,” he told the Italian daily referring to Lionel Messi. “He does things that no one else can do.”
Dybala also revealed his disappointment of not being able to play along the likes of the Brazilian football legend, Ronaldinho. "Since Ronaldinho doesn't play anymore, I would like Messi to join Juventus,” he told the press.
Despite a poor start, which saw the Turin-based side gather just five points from its opening six fixtures in the Serie A, Massimiliano Allegri's men have come back strongly to lead the rest of the Italian teams by a comfortable margin of six points.
While speaking about the remarkable comeback from his side, Paulo Dybala said, “It would be amazing. They took us for dead, but the way we kept going and the desire of this team in each game showed we knew this championship to be ours.”
Juventus’ historic run in the 2015-16 Serie A
Juventus achieved an incredible feat earlier this season when they won fifteen consecutive matches from game week 11 to game week 25. The club has also remained unbeaten since its last 22 league matches out which just one ended in a stalemate.
Juventus also made it to the round-of-16 stage in the Champions League but were knocked out by Bayern Munich.
‘The Old Lady of Turin’ will be playing its next five matches against Palermo, Lazio, Fiorentina, Carpi and Verona respectively as it looks to successfully win a fifth consecutive Serie A title.
