Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has confirmed that they are not planning to sell Pepe in this summer’s transfer window.
Pepe, who has been a long time admirer of Manuel Pellegrini – who is set to take charge as the new coach at the Etihad Stadium – is one of the top targets for Manchester City.
With Jose Mourinho, the new Chelsea manager, also on the lookout for an opportunity to bag the player, Perez had no other choice but to stress repeatedly that Pepe is not for sale.
Perez also added that he is not planning to let Cristiano Ronlado or Iker Casillas leave.
“I never said he wanted to go,” he said when asked about Ronaldo.
“And I cannot imagine a future without Casillas.”
Real Madrid has not settled in on a new coach yet, but it is peculated that Paris Saint Germain’s Carlo Ancelotti is on top of their potential candidate list.
