Cusco’s Real Garcilaso became the first football club from Peru this year to qualify for the 2014 Copa Libertadores tournament.
Garcilaso will expect to improve their performance after reaching the round of 16 in the 2013 version, reports Xinhua.
Garcilaso defeated Jose Galvez de Chimbote 3-1 and finished first in their regional tournament.
Meanwhile, Universitario is in second position after defeating Pacifico FC 1-0 with a penalty goal. Sporting Cristal is third after its 2-0 victory against Union Comercio de Moyobamba.
