Konami has announced Liverpool as it's official partner in their latest edition of Pro Evolution Soccer 2017. Earlier in the month, Konami signed a similar deal with Barcelona but the major difference between the partnership between Konami and the two sides is that the press release does not state the deal as exclusive for the Reds as it is for Barcelona; which signals relief for Liverpool fans who are more inclined towards PES' rival game, FIFA 17.
The partnership was announced in a series of tweets as the Pro Evolution twitter account tweeted, "The official partnership means unrivalled access, allowing us to represent them expertly in the game. That, of course, includes the incredible likenesses, Player ID and team styles we're known for."
The biggest plus from this announcement is that the club won't be addressed as Merseyside Red in the game and will be referred as Liverpool. Former players are going to be included in a Legends as Konami are planning various strategies to make the game more appealing.
A redeveloped Anfield will also be a part of the game once the capacity increases via a free update to the game. Including the new main stand along with the iconic 'You'll Never Walk Alone' anthem is sure to make the fans wanting to play the game as early as possible. Konami have also confirmed that Liverpool greats like Robbie Fowler, Ian Rush and also Michael Owen are going to be featured in the game.
EA Sports owns the entire Premier League rights so there won’t be any change for the Reds in their latest edition, FIFA 17. Manchester United just announced a deal with EA Sports for the upcoming season. EA Sports have the rights for Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp and hence, the German will be addressed as J. Kloop in PES 17.
Liverpool earlier were used to be named as Merseyside Red whereas Everton were Merseyside Blue. Crystal Palace as South Norwood. Southampton as Hampshire Red and West Glamorgan City for Swansea are some of the examples that PES use for other clubs in the league. Official kits will be added for the Reds because of this partnership as it will give a more realistic experience for the Liverpool fans while playing this game.
